The Jersey City Climate & Energy Action Plan compiles actions addressing climate mitigation, adaptation and equity. The plan gives the community a framework to document, coordinate, measure, and adapt efforts moving forward. Moving beyond listing actions, this plan discusses how each action will be implemented via a timeline, financing mechanism where identified, and assignment of responsibility to departments or community stakeholders. The Plan calls out the co-benefits of each action where known.

The Plan also incorporates photos submitted by residents in a Photo Contest, and recognizes three community members leading climate efforts through Community Voice profiles. In addition to the plan's extensive community engagement efforts, which included over 200 residents and 66 working group memebrs, the photo contest and community profiles are great ways to include residents in the climate plan and promote community ownership.
